[About TEDxHope Street]
Liverpool Has Something to Say
TEDxHope Street is an independently organised TED event, licensed by TED and run by Satya Morarji and The Dialogue Collective CIC. It brings together speakers, performers and thinkers from across Liverpool and beyond, gathered for one day in one of the city’s great venues.
The first event takes place in late 2026 / Early 2027. Over five years, the series will move through some of the most iconic venues on that street. The theme connecting all five years is Reconciliation in a Polarised World. Year One’s theme is Dare to Hope.

What You Need to Know
Questions about TEDx, our event, the format and the thinking behind it. If your question isn’t answered here, get in touch.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organised TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organised. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
TED is a nonprofit organisation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Adichie, Sal Khan and Malala Yousafzai.
The exact date and location of TEDxHope Street will be confirmed shortly. Sign up to our mailing list to be the first to hear.
Capacity is limited to around 400 people. We'd recommend not waiting once tickets go on sale.
Doors open in the morning. The day runs across four sessions of talks, each with its own theme and a live performance element. Three workshops run in parallel throughout the day. Experience spaces are open all day for reflection and connection. A catered lunch is included. The final session closes with a panel discussion and Q&A.
We are currently selecting and coaching our 2026 speakers. Everyone who takes the TEDxHope Street stage goes through a rigorous development process to make their talk as powerful as it can be. The full programme will be announced once selection is complete. Sign up to be notified.
Yes. Speaker applications are open now. We welcome people from all walks of life who have an idea worth sharing. Experience of public speaking is not a requirement. What we are looking for is an idea worth spreading. Visit our Speakers page to apply.
All talks are filmed and published on the TED website and TEDx YouTube channel, making them permanently available to anyone in the world. A talk given in Liverpool can be watched in Lagos, London or Los Angeles. That reach is part of why TEDxHope Street matters.
[What to Expect]
A Day Unlike Any Other in Liverpool
TEDxHope Street is a full day of talks, workshops and experiences, designed to leave you thinking differently about the things that matter most. Here is how the day works.
Talks Worth Your Time
Fifteen speakers and performers across four sessions. Each talk is coached and refined over months before it reaches the stage. Every one is worth being in the room for.
Workshops That Go Deeper
Three parallel workshops run throughout the day. Choose the one that calls to you and come away with something you didn't have when you walked in.
Spaces to Think and Connect
A Quiet Zone, a Connection Zone, a Wall of Hope and Conversation Cards. Room to reflect, to meet someone unexpected, and to leave something of yourself behind.
The Start of Something
The conversations that start at TEDxHope Street don't stop at the door. This is Year One of a five-year series. The people in that room are the beginning of something.
